If the GPU vanished from the system after installing 391 driver you can try to roll back the driver and see if that helps. If that doesn’t help you can consider reinstalling the OS.
if the GPU isn’t detected even after that it could be an issue with the Motherboard and you might want to report it to the Laptop maker.
Since it’s Laptop unfortunately our troubleshooting options are very limited and sorry for that.

Please be informed the reasons why the dGPU isn’t detected by the OS are either due to a faulty dGPU and board or OS.
Did you check the system BIOS to see if the dGPU is detected there?
Driver can’t be the root cause of the issue because driver will come to picture after detecting the GPU.

Hello Christian,
When there is issue with the GPU already present, the next driver install will highlight the issue. For us to troubleshoot the issue the GPU needs to be detected. As the GPU is no longer detected you can either reinstall Windows and see if it gets detected or try to update the BIOS and chipset of the laptop from laptop manufacturer website and check if it gets detected.
If it still doesnot work then you need to contact the laptop manufacturer to get the GPU hardware tested. Laptop GPU are manufactured and installed into laptops by laptop manufacturer so only they can get the laptop GPU tested to see if its a windows issue or the hardware.

Hello Christian,
As the GPU is not detected at all, driver will not install. You will need to contact the laptop manufacturer to get the hardware tested. Once the GPU is detected you will be able to install the supported driver.

Error is definitely in Optimus/upperfilter and ACPI/ ACPI calls
Even install non-ACPI basic GPU thentry update fails. It is still a deactivated GPU bythen
Deleting ACPI drivers of Microsoft to reinstall does not work i suspect allofthis conflicts with windows update driver installed still and or ACPI lists modified / (not solved with a software acpi driver reinstall)

Hello Christian,
As the GPU is not detected at all, driver will not install. You will need to contact the laptop manufacturer to get the hardware tested. Once the GPU is detected you will be able to install the supported driver.

but the c a u s a l i t y of the error is not inthe BIOS and surenot in the WINDOWS installation
even if these are reasonable solutions I am aware of, seeking to unlock hidden BIOS menu for instance to power on GPU manually etc.

Hello Christian,
When there is issue with the GPU already present, the next driver install will highlight the issue. For us to troubleshoot the issue the GPU needs to be detected. As the GPU is no longer detected you can either reinstall Windows and see if it gets detected or try to update the BIOS and chipset of the laptop from laptop manufacturer website and check if it gets detected.
If it still doesnot work then you need to contact the laptop manufacturer to get the GPU hardware tested. Laptop GPU are manufactured and installed into laptops by laptop manufacturer so only they can get the laptop GPU tested to see if its a windows issue or the hardware.

Hello Christian,
As the GPU is not detected at all, driver will not install. You will need to contact the laptop manufacturer to get the hardware tested. Once the GPU is detected you will be able to install the supported driver.

Even install non-ACPI basic GPU thentry update fails. It is still a deactivated GPU bythen
Deleting ACPI drivers of Microsoft to reinstall does not work i suspect allofthis conflicts with windows update driver installed still and or ACPI lists modified / (not solved with a software acpi driver reinstall)

Hello Christian,
When there is issue with the GPU already present, the next driver install will highlight the issue. For us to troubleshoot the issue the GPU needs to be detected. As the GPU is no longer detected you can either reinstall Windows and see if it gets detected or try to update the BIOS and chipset of the laptop from laptop manufacturer website and check if it gets detected.
If it still doesnot work then you need to contact the laptop manufacturer to get the GPU hardware tested. Laptop GPU are manufactured and installed into laptops by laptop manufacturer so only they can get the laptop GPU tested to see if its a windows issue or the hardware.

3. How did you find that out that driver caused your GPU to disappear from the laptop?

Hello Christian,
As the GPU is not detected at all, driver will not install. You will need to contact the laptop manufacturer to get the hardware tested. Once the GPU is detected you will be able to install the supported driver.

Error is definitely in Optimus/upperfilter and ACPI/ ACPI calls
Even install non-ACPI basic GPU thentry update fails. It is still a deactivated GPU bythen
Deleting ACPI drivers of Microsoft to reinstall does not work i suspect allofthis conflicts with windows update driver installed still and or ACPI lists modified / (not solved with a software acpi driver reinstall)
